A pre-owned boat can give you many, many years of enjoyment and great moments on the sea. The right boat can cruise and do anything else you’d like—almost as good as a new boat. Plus, it will cost you less money, making it a wise investment. Here we bring you advices about the process and stages of buying a pre-owned boat from Euronautic in accordance to make buying process as much easier for you as possible.


Research

Establish a ‘Boat Budget’ - When thinking about a budget, please have in mind how you want to use your boat – Will you be on a lake, a sea, or ocean? Is it for fishing, cruising, skiing, or racing? Will you use that boat the whole year or just few weeks a year? Will you bring family with children, pets etc? Also, you need to know what costs are incurred when purchasing a boat – our experienced sales staff can assist you. Send us request and we will answer you as soon as possible. Make a selection - We advise you to view as many types and models that we currently have for sale, this will give you an idea of what different styles are available.

Final Questions - Discuss any questions you may have regarding insurance, mooring and yearly maintenance costs. Naturally, these depends on the type and size of the boat that you are interested in.

Making an Offer

Confirm your Offer to us – Many boats are open to offers – we can advise you on this.

Boat Demonstration – We then arrange a sailing trial with you, which last about ½ hours manoeuvring on the sea; show you all details about engine, and all other important technical devices; check condition of inventory.

Purchase Price Agreed – Once the price has been agreed, a 10% - 30% deposit is payable and a contract is then drawn between yourself and the owner of the boat.

The Purchase

Legal Paperwork and Contract – Once you confirm to us that you are happy to proceed with the purchase, the balance becomes due; this process will generally take between 7 to 28 days.

Once funds have cleared, all necessary paperwork will be done from the owner of the boat including invoice, contract and statement for export if necessary, etc. and these will be presented to you during the handover.

The handover will generally take about 2 hours – depending on size and complexity of the boat – all basic functions will be explained to you and we will assist you in mooring the boat on the pier.
