Kornati National Park is a unique archipelago with numerous islands. Turquoise waters and breathtaking natural landscapes make this region a must for nature lovers and sailors alike.

But Šibenik-Knin County has much more to offer than just natural wonders. The region has a rich cultural heritage with historic towns, medieval fortresses, and traditional festivals. Day 1 (Saturday) - Prepare for your sailing week or explore Pirovac

What can you do before you check in, which usually happens on Saturday around 5 pm? We recommend a leisurely walk along the promenade to enjoy the warm atmosphere and stunning views of Pirovac and its marina.

The town of Pirovac has preserved its medieval walls, which are still intact today. You can walk along them to admire the beautiful town and sea view.

The fortress in Kašić is another attraction, dating back to the 16th century. The fortress was built on a hill to protect the town from attacks from the sea.

Several beautiful churches in Pirovac are worth visiting and feature attractive architecture. One of them is the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, built in the 15th century and is one of the oldest churches in the area.

Pirovac marina is the perfect starting point for your sailing week on the Adriatic coast. Its peaceful atmosphere, picturesque setting, and abundant amenities make it the ideal place to kick off an unforgettable adventure.

Pirovac marina, a haven for over 200 boats, also offers various facilities to prepare you for the week ahead. You can even take a short sailing trip to settle in and familiarise yourself with the yacht. Alternatively, you can spend the evening on board at the marina and enjoy a home-cooked meal while watching the sunset over the bay.

Day 2 (Sunday) - Sailing from Pirovac to the must-visit Island of Žut

On the second day of your sailing week in Croatia, sail from Pirovac Marina to the beautiful island of Žut. The island is located about 23 nautical miles away. It is a popular destination among sailors for its stunning nature, rich history, and delicious local cuisine.

Once you arrive on the island, take a hike to the highest peak and take in the thrilling views of the Adriatic Sea. There are also many secluded beaches and bays on the island that invite you to swim, snorkel and sunbathe.

After a day of adventure, it's time to indulge in some of the island's gastronomic delights. Žut is known for its fresh seafood, prepared perfectly and served with traditional or creative side dishes.

Please pay attention to the wind direction and strength when it's time to dock. If the bora wind is strong, it's recommended to moor at the north pier of the marina Žut or buoys, while if the south wind is strong, it's much more pleasant to moor at the south dock.

All in all, the island of Žut is an indispensable destination for your sailing adventure. It's the perfect place to relax and break from the hustle and bustle of big cities and crowds.

Day 3 (Monday) - From the island of Žut to one and only NP Kornati (don't miss Tureta Fortress and the island Lavsa)

On the third day of your sailing week, set out for one of the most spectacular natural wonders of the region - Kornati National Park. The park consists of 89 islands, islets, and reefs. It is often called a "nautical paradise" because of its outstanding natural beauty and unique underwater world.

During your trip, you can test your nautical skills as you navigate the park's intricate network of islands and reefs. Take time to explore the area and discover hidden coves and beaches.

One of the highlights of your visit to Kornati is the Tureta Fortress, one of the most impressive Byzantine structures in the park. Be sure to climb to the top of the fortress for a stunning panoramic view of the islands and archipelago.

After visiting the fortress, head to Lavsa bay to explore the remains of a salt warehouse and the sunken remains of a medieval salt pan, this historic site offers a glimpse of times gone by.

As an afternoon activity, you can try sub-wing, an underwater board towed by a boat. This exciting water sport allows you to view the underwater world and its charms uniquely and exhilaratingly.

As the day draws close, find a peaceful spot to anchor and enjoy the beautiful sunset over the sea. Lavsa Island is an excellent place to spend the night. The quiet atmosphere makes it a perfect place to relax and prepare for future adventures.

Day 4 (Tuesday) - Departure from Lavsa to the picturesque town of Skradin

On Tuesday, your sailing adventure will take you from the tranquil island of Lavsa to the historical town of Skradin. At a distance of 39 nautical miles, this leg of the journey promises lovely views and plenty of opportunities to explore the beautiful Croatian coastline.

As you approach Skradin, you will be greeted by the picturesque entrance to Krka National Park. Take advantage of the opportunity to visit the marvelous Krka waterfalls, one of the region's main attractions.

Skradin is one of the oldest towns in Croatia, dating back to Roman times. The city is famous for its stunning architecture, charming streets, and delicious local cuisine.

When you arrive in Skradin, walk through the town's narrow streets and admire the historic buildings, including the Gothic Church of Our Lady of Visovac from the 15th century. When it comes to food, Skradin is famous for its delicious local cuisine. Be sure to try the favorite Skradin cake, a dessert made of almonds and cherries, and the traditional Skradinski rižot (Skradin risotto). This meat dish takes more than 12 hours to prepare.

As the day draws closer, find a quiet spot to anchor and watch another magnificent sunset.

Day 5 (Wednesday) - Exploring the unique Krka National Park and the city of Šibenik

On Wednesday, the 5th day of your Croatian sailing week, you can visit two iconic destinations - Krka National Park and the historic city of Šibenik. With a distance of only 13 nautical miles, this part of the sailing trip also promises a day full of adventure.

As you enter Krka National Park, you will be mesmerized by its unique beauty. Take a leisurely walk through the park and explore the many plant and animal species that call it home. Take advantage of the opportunity to visit Visovac, a beautiful island in the middle of Visovac Lake, where a 15th-century Franciscan monastery is located.

For those who crave more adventure, head to the Čikola River Canyon and experience the thrill of a 1.4-kilometer zipline. You can soar above the pristine wilderness and marvel at the magnificent sights surrounding you.

In the afternoon, you can visit Šibenik, which stands out for its natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. With two monuments protected by UNESCO, Šibenik offers a wealth of cultural and historical landmarks to explore and appreciate. You can even hop on an electric scooter and explore the city at your own pace, admiring the stunning architecture and immersing yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of this historic city.

With memories of the natural beauty and historical sights of Krka National Park and Šibenik, you'll look forward to continuing your week of sailing.

Day 6 (Thursday) - Set sail from Šibenik to the picturesque island of Zlarin

Thursday is for a short sailing trip over four nautical miles from Šibenik to the beautiful island of Zlarin. The journey starts with sailing out of Šibenik, and on the way to Zlarin, you can enjoy the magical view of St. Anthonys Channel.

The island of Zlarin is a picturesque destination known for its sandy beaches, delicious gastronomic specialties, sacral buildings, and Klepac hill. The island's port is quite sizable, measuring 131 meters in length and 16 meters in width. The island has a naturally protected harbor and anchorage, which makes it a favorite spot among sailors.

The tradition of coral diving is an integral part of the culture of Zlarin and has been for centuries. Corals are fascinating sea creatures, a unique mixture of plants and animals. Due to their calcareous skeletal system, they are classified as minerals. Diving enthusiasts can explore the island's crystal-clear waters and discover various coral species.

In conclusion, you have an excellent opportunity to sail from Šibenik to Zlarin, where you can experience the island's natural beauties, indulge in gastronomic specialties and dive into the fascinating world of corals.

Day 7 (Friday) - From Coral Dive Island to Prvić (and then back to Marina Pirovac)

On Friday, the 7th day of your sailing route, a total distance of 20 nautical miles from the island of Zlarin back to Marina Pirovac is on the agenda, with a stopover on the charming island of Prvić. Prvić is considered a protected cultural and historical treasure and is home to two inhabited places, Prvić Luka and Prvić Šepurine.

The island is a peaceful and serene destination that offers a perfect escape from the hectic city life. No cars are on the island, and the absence of city noise makes for an ideal vacation. You can explore the architectural wonders of the island, including churches, chapels, and historic buildings.

One of the most popular tourist attractions on the island is the Faust Vrančić Memorial Center in Prvić Luka. The center is dedicated to the first Croatian lexicographer, famous inventor, and bishop Faust Vrančić. There you can learn about the life and works of this renowned polymath who contributed significantly to various fields, including linguistics, engineering, and physics.

The last day of your sailing week is an excellent opportunity to explore the charming island of Prvić and learn about its rich history. After exploring Prvić, the sailing trip will end at the starting point, Marina Pirovac, where our Euronautic Yacht Charter base is located.

*Remember a few things when sailing in the Šibenik archipelago: you need a valid ticket to pass Kornati National Park, ACI Marina Žut, ACI Marina Skradin, D-Marin Mandalina Šibenik, Memorial Center Faust Vrančić, and mooring buoys.
